White Rose and NZ Fantail

Today I witness the purity of a young white rose, the last rose of summer. I feel tears rising at its beauty. A tiny rosebud, barely formed, coiled so tightly it becomes a perfect triangle. An arrow. Its point angled toward my house, toward true north.
I ask:
White Rose, do you come to ally with me.
The answer arrives:
Yes.
I continue:
White Rose, I see your triangular beauty, earth and spirit personified. I am honoured and grateful to work with you today. What energy do you carry into the world through your beauty and through your soul essence?
The Rose speaks:
Direction.
I am earth and I am spirit.
I point the way.
I am pure, although you can already see how the world has marked me. I am too tightly coiled. My potency is too much for this world. I need to loosen, and if I do, the rains have less chance of rotting me. But if I loosen, my petals may blow away, and then what. All is temporary. All is fragile. Beauty is here one moment and gone the next, just like life.
Enjoy me. Honour me. Let me go, one way or another.
I come in autumn when the rest of my body is fruiting. I am an unexpected blessing. Cherish me.
I come because I am needed, today and tomorrow. I may be small, but I hold a great love, tightly rolled in the heart of my being. I am here to be released. I am here to love, and be released.
I respond:
White Rose, you are so perfect it feels criminal to take you out of this world before your full flowering.
The Rose answers:
You are not taking me out of this world.
You are giving me to this world.
My physical form is only one part of me. I release my essence, my spirit, my soul, and these can reach far further and deeper into earth, into sky, into the inner and outer realms.
I am needed. I am free and devoted to the work ahead. I can offer more as essence than I ever could as a rotting flower, no matter how beautiful in a single moment. My soul essence is the most beautiful thing I have to offer.
I ask:
What medicine do you give to those who ingest you or sit with your essence in meditation.
The Rose replies:
I give hope.
Hope that the purity of love and soul is not limited to the earthly plane.
I give faith, reminding you that you are more than a body. Faith that your power is immense, that you can cover the world with light if your heart turns toward it.
I am love.
I am the pure freedom of love uncontained, reaching through the universes.
All the worlds are yours when you move from love.
Faith that this is your true nature, and that you too can create wonders.
I whisper back:
I love you, White Rose. Thank you for joining with me.
Field Note
While creating the White Rose Essence Natura, a native New Zealand fantail entered my backyard. It circled the crystal goblet holding the essence. I raised the goblet toward it to receive its blessing.
The fantail landed on the edge of the deck where the essence was absorbing sunlight. It opened its fan-tail, perched there, and looked directly at Starlight, our cat, who sat only half a meter away.
For a long moment they watched each other, quiet and alert. Then the fantail lifted and flitted away.
I moved the goblet into the space where the bird had been. The sun shone through the crystal, and along the wooden rail it cast a perfect image of a long-stemmed rosebud made entirely of light, edged in rainbow.
A promise, given and received.
